The circa 1930’s building’s original use was for storing weapons, and there was certainly some interesting finds during the laying of subfloor drainage!
We deliberately designed a central ‘build’, leaving the double and triple bricked edges of the simple gabled, steel trussed space ‘original and unaffected, and visible, complete with the paint and scars of previous occupations in addition to the modern ‘tattoo’ style graffiti added as part of the renovation.
The Central island, that is also left deliberately short of the roof, houses the kitchen, point of sale, bar and amenities. This allows for creation of more intimate dining and entertainment areas around the central core.
