The childcare project is part of a much larger development project. As such it was preceded by extensive Master planning and a Resource Consent project for the overall site that determined the highest and best use for this site.
The Masterplanning process determined that there was a strong likelihood that a childcare centre was a strong development option for the site so this was the determined as an appropriate first stage. Expressions of interest were sought and New Shoots wase secured as the tenant. FDA then liaised closely with New Shoots to deliver a high standard, custom build ‘warm shell’ that included all fitted furniture, fixtures and fittings within the tenancy, and a extensively landscaped exterior area.
In this stage 1 project it was important to set the pace in terms of providing a unique set of aesthetics for the rest of the centre, as well as maintaining a strict set of rules based on the sensitive location and residential neighbours.
